Graduating from the University of British Columbia with a Doctorate in Dental Medicine, Dr. Vandepeear practiced in Prince George and Kelowna before moving to Kamloops in 2004.
Dr. Vandepeear is committed to ongoing excellence in patient care, continuing education and dental technology. He completed the Creating Restorative Excellence series at the renowned Kois Center for Advanced Dental Learning in Seattle, WA in April, 2010.
He began offering CEREC3 CAD/CAM technology in 2006 to provide single appointment ceramic restorations, such as crowns. Dr. Vandepeear also offers Sedation Dentistry to reduce anxiety associated with dental work. In 2008, he completed training in Surgical Oral Implantology and became a Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists.
Dr. Vandepeear’s commitment to continuing education and new dental technologies is motivated by a genuine desire to provide the most effective dental interventions available to all of his patients.
Kois Center offers a comprehensive curriculum involving aesthetic, occlusion, and restorative dentistry. The program is built upon Director and Founder Dr. John C. Kois´ mission statement: “Enabling motivated dentists to achieve extraordinary levels, expanding both knowledge and application skills in restorative dentistry.” Having successfully graduated the program, Dr. Vandeepear will be eligible to write his mentor exam in July 2011 to become a Program Mentor and continue his learning.
Dr. Vandeepear received Oral Sedation training under Dr. Stanley Malamed, a leader in dental anaesthesiology. This specialized training allows Dr. Vandepeear to offer a highly effective anxiety reduction method where patients’ blood pressure, oxygen levels and heart rate are carefully monitored through out their dental procedure.
Dr. Vandeepear completed training in Toronto and Chicago under Dr. Carl Misch, one of the world leaders in Dental Implantology. He also completed training under Dr. Norm Ickert, at the Ickert Teaching Center in Langley, BC. Dr. Vandeepear became a Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists June 2008.
