The Technology Used at River City Dental to Give You a Healthy Smile!

We use modern technology to provide you with the most comfortable, efficient and effective dental service possible. This includes:

  • Digital Radiographs
  • Soft Tissue Lasers
  • Panoramic X-Rays
  • Oral Photography
  • Laser Cavity Detection

Digital Radiograph

Digital X-rays provide instant images using 90% less radiation than traditional (film) X-rays. We are able to show you large X-ray pictures of your teeth on a computer screen right at the dental chair. Not only can you be confident in your diagnosis, you can also easily track changes in your tooth structure as the computer stores images over time. Digital X-rays can also be sent electronically to insurance companies, labs or specialists to increase efficiency of services.

Soft Tissue Laser

An extremely effective and efficient way of creating superior esthetic results, the soft tissue laser allows us to “move” gum tissue when placing crowns. It is also a tool often used to assist in the crown and bridge impression process.

Panoramic X-Ray Machine

This advanced machine allows full digital scans of upper and lower jaws, including wisdom teeth. It is one of the most comprehensive pictures that can be taken of your mouth, offering a perspective that shows missing teeth, wisdom teeth and extra teeth that is not possible without a full jaw view.

Intra-Oral Photography

This fun and effective technology allows Dr. Vandepeear to display full colour photographs of the inside of your mouth on the TV screen at your dental chair. The small oral camera captures colour pictures of areas of concern, such as cavities, broken teeth, infection and oral lesions.

Laser Cavity Detection (Diagnodent)

The Diagnodent uses laser technology to measure the density of teeth on their biting surfaces, revealing cavities at their earliest stages. Early detection allows for much less invasive treatments, allowing you to maintain the integrity of your tooth. The smaller the filling, the longer the repair will last.
